High Caliber Guns and Optics opened its doors in June of 2023. It was the brainchild of a couple gun enthusiast and entrepreneurs that wanted to open a firearms store that filled a need in the firearms market in South Carolina. There were only traditional gun stores and the big box chain outlets and neither option really satisfied the need for a gun store that was a cut above the rest. High Caliber Guns and Optics was created to give real gun enthusiasts a place to shop that provided higher end choices and unparalleled customer service.           

Have you heard of the new 8.6 Blackout? 

 

8.6 Blackout was developed by Kevin Brittingham and his team at Q. It is often referred to as 300 Blackouts big brother and it’s easy to see why. What 300BLK provided to the AR-15 platform, 8.6BLK does for AR-10’s. The parent case being 6.5 Creedmoor, 8.6BLK is trimmed down and necked up for a .338 projectile. Heavier mass means more energy transfer on target. Barrels are being run with a fast 1:3 twist, creating devastating terminal performance. Although 8.6BLK is larger than its 300BLK brother, our subsonic ammunition offerings make it just as quiet.

We are planning a blog specifically devoted to higher end firearms and new developments as they happen.
